POPULAR ARTISTS DEMYSTIFY THEIR CRAFT IN NEW MAGAZINE

Laguna Hills, CA – March 13, 2009 – For more than 15 years, art and crafting publisher Stampington & Company has featured hundreds of pieces of mixed-media and paper-crafting artwork in every issue of Somerset Studio, The Stampers’ Sampler and Somerset Memories, as well as within numerous special publications. On March 1, 2009, they released the premier issue of Somerset Apprentice, a semi-annual special publication that breaks down the basics of popular techniques and teaches readers the fundamentals of art and crafting.

The premier issue of Somerset Apprentice features more than 40 mixed-media art samples as well as a number of mini-articles that demystify basic art and crafting techniques. This 144-page publication displays a multitude of paper-crafting and mixed-media art techniques, such as painting, image altering, gesso resists, wax surface treatments, and sewing on paper, and includes full-color photographs and detailed, easy-to-understand instructions for all projects. Notable artists highlighted in the premier issue of Somerset Apprentice include Connie Govea Stuart, Angela Cartwright, Hanne Matthiesen, Michelle Ward, and Claudine Hellmuth.
