To find and view the products used, click here. Begin by painting the paper mache pumpkins (5DC-28-3961) with grey acrylic paint (5EC-01048), and allow to dry. Using the gourde acrylic paint (5EC-01012) paint decorative designs onto the pumpkins as desired. For the polka dot design I used a round blending brush to stamp the circles. Once the circles are dry, take a lengthy piece of yellow baker’s twine (5DT-LEMON) and wrap it all the way around the pumpkin in the grooves, and secure it on top with a knot. Tie a piece of eggshell seam binding ribbon (5LA-EGGSHL) through the top in a bow. For the second pumpkin, I used a regular paint brush to paint lines in the grooves with the gourde acrylic paint (5EC-01012). Once the paint dried, I tied a piece of seam binding around the outside of the pumpkin in a bow. |

Jars of Happy By Vanessa Spencer |

To find and view the products used, click here. Sometimes less is more. We have a wonderful selection of altered jar projects in the studio, but jars are projects that we never seem to grow tired of! Dressing them up is a fun, yet inexpensive way to create gifts and the many different versions are always inspiring for added touches to your home décor. For this version, you only need a handful of supplies. Be sure to save those glass jars instead of tossing them in the recycling bin. I keep all of mine and save them for projects because it’s always good to have a stash ready! Begin by cutting out the yellow patterned paper from the blissful collection (5AP-BBL001). Cut to size accordingly for the jars you are altering. Use a strong adhesive tape (5DK-2985), and add a generous amount to the back of the paper. Carefully wrap the paper around the outside of the jar. Next, take a piece of clipper grey seam binding ribbon (5LA-CLIPGREY) and wrap it around the jar, carefully tying a neat bow to secure it. Fill the jar with your favorite flowers. |

Altered Apple Baskets By Vanessa Spencer |

To find and view the products used, click here. Some of my favorite things to store everyday items in and alter are apple baskets. They come in various sizes and can hold a generous amount of things from apples to cookies or craft supplies to utensils and napkins! You can find apple baskets at most large discount craft stores. Begin by painting the outside of the basket with white acrylic paint (5EC-01009), and allow to dry. Around the outside there is typically a middle band of wood. Above and underneath this section, attach the yellow checkered fabric tape (5DK-CKLEMON). Use a piece of the clipper grey seam binding (5LA-CLIPGREY) to wrap around the middle, and then tie a nice, neat bow. Create as many baskets as needed, and fill them with utensils and napkins for a buffet-style dinner! |

To find and view the products used, click here. Use these adorable cards as needed. Try adding a “mini menu” inside the card or simply a sweet sentiment. Using your favorite designs from the Blissful collection (5AP-BBL001) cut out the cardstock to 3.5 × 4 inches in size, fold in half and score with a bone folder (5RI-BON10029). Cut 1” strips of coordinating cardstock from the same collection, and glue to the center of the front of the cards. Stamp your favorite words or sentiments onto the front. I used the French Phrases clear stamps (G1302) with black ink (5TS-BLACK). Tie pieces of oyster baker’s twine (5DT-OYSTER) around the front of each card, and attach a star embellishment (5HH-CX832) if desired. |

To find and view the products used, click here. Favors—no party would be complete without them! And edible favors (in my opinion) are always a hit. For these lovelies, I placed some sweet sugar cookies into glassine sleeves (5BU-SLEEVESA). However, before you add the cookies you will want to attach the cardstock to the front of the sleeves. Cut 2” strips of the polka dot patterned paper from the Blissful paper collection (5AP-BBL001). Glue them onto the front of the bags with a strong adhesive (5DK-2985). Add the cookies and then seal the sleeves shut with a piece of paper tape in a complimentary color (5SG-17839). To top it off, tie some oyster grey Divine Twine (5DT-OYSTER) around the packages. |

Flags with Flavor By Elysa Hill |
||
![]() Click to enlarge |
||
To find and view the products used, click here. Every party MUST have pretty (and tasty) cupcakes displayed on a cupcake tier with cute little flags! Elysa made the most adorable flags for her homemade cupcakes using minimal supplies. Start by printing or handwriting the name of the treat onto cardstock from the Blissful paper collection (5AP-BBL001). Cut the cardstock to desired length, fold it in half and attach it to the top of a toothpick with adhesive. Use a square punch or simply snip the edges to create the flag shape, and you’ve just created instant decor that doubles as a delicious dessert! |
