To find and view the products used, click here. These flower embellishments from BasicGrey are not just for paper crafting - they are perfect for creating quick and easy wearables. Whether it’s a barrette or clip for your hair or a brooch, the girls on your list this year will be delighted to receive these lovelies! I used the larger “delicious” BasicGrey flowers (5BG-FAB8029, 5BG-FAB8028 & 5BG-FAB8027), but the smaller flowers also make great accessories. Use a strong adhesive to glue the clips or brooch backs onto the backs of the flowers. I used a hot glue gun with glue that is specifically for gluing fabric to metal. Allow the glue to dry and that’s all there is to it! For the cuffs I simply did a zig-zag stitch using brown thread along a piece of elastic. Then I sprayed the elastic with Adirondack Color Wash and allowed the elastic to dry. Next, simply stitch the ends of the elastic onto the flower. If you want your flower to be a color other than the three colors available, just spray one of the white flowers with your favorite Adirondack Color Wash. To be extra creative, try packaging the gifts in a glassine sleeve and then seal the sleeve closed with some washi tape. |

To find and view the products used, click here. The idea-ology tissue wrap is great for incorporating into mixed-media but it also comes in handy when you need to artfully wrap a gift! Combine with some rich seam binding ribbon (5LA-BASRED) and pretty label sticker from Papaya Art (5PA-XSTK0200) you can artfully wrap a small gift and create coordinating cards in no time. Simply wrap your small gifts with the idea-ology tissue wrap (5TH-92960). Create small tags for the gifts by sticking small circle papaya holiday stickers (5PA-XSTK0200) onto round white tags. Tie a neat bow onto the box using some red seam binding ribbon (5LA-BASRED), attaching the gift tag when you tie it on. Create your coordinating cards using the white card stacks (5DW-CARDWHT) and envelopes (5DW-ENVWHT). Embellish the front of the card with some torn pieces of the tissue wrap (5TH-92960) and glue the tissue wrap on with a glue medium (5EC-05305) and allow to dry. Then simply add a papaya art sticker (5PA-XSTK0200) that coordinates with the sticker on the gift and accent the card with the coordinating ribbon. |

To find and view the products used, click here. Sometimes searching for the right holiday (and home) décor isn’t as easy as it should be. The best thing about wire forms is that you can paint or alter them to suit your own color palette and style! For painting, you have two options. Spray painting your wire form tree (5HC-327) is quick and easy, but it requires working in a well ventilated area and wearing a facemask. If working with spray paint isn’t an option for you - try using non toxic acrylic paint (5EC-01009) as an alternative. After you paint the tree, paint some wooden buttons the color of your choice. I used a light green (5EC-01037) for mine. Once the buttons dry, sew them onto a piece of jute ribbon (5HI-596-02) using white thread. Wrap the embellished ribbon around the tree, using glue dots to secure it to the wire. |

To find and view the products used, click here. Holiday décor is a must in our house, and so is repurposing. Recently, a good friend of mine gave me a bunch of old wooden pieces from some old planter boxes in her backyard, and they were full of artistic potential! I love how weathered and distressed they are, so I decided to use a couple of them to make some quick and easy holiday boards. Place your holiday boards on the mantle or bookshelf, or try adding some wire or ribbon to hang them on the door or a wall. To begin, I painted the front of each board with a rough coat of gesso (5HSP24941). Allow the boards to dry. Attach pieces of decorative paper tape (5SG-17852 - DISCONTINUED & 5SG-17898) to the bottom edge of each board. Glue pieces of torn vintage paper to the left edge of each board. Tear some rectangle shaped strips of Cavallini paper (5CWRAP/FFBRD) and glue them onto each board. Stamp some holiday images from the Christine Adolph holiday cube stamp (C8436) onto the boards. I used the square script image on the right edges of each board, and the tree and snowflake images for the left edges. Attach some small strips of lace tape (5DK-LT1008) to each board for a little feminine, shabby touch. On the stamped tree image, glue a small bow that can be easily created using red scrappers floss (5KF-SSCARD). |
