Paper Folders and Business Card Holder

Start with either heavy cardstock or a manila filing folder. With folder (remaining folded in half) cut strips to the desired length in which you would like your paper folder to be when complete. Once you have your manila folder cut down to desired size begin layering paper from the Stella Ruby Paper Stacks by Basic Grey (5BG-STE775) making sure you cover the inside as well as the outside of the folder you are creating.

To create the flowers take a pink (or red) flower velvet brad by Creative Imaginations (5CI-18826) and punch it through a square piece of paper created from the Stella Ruby Collection (5BG-STE775) 3" x 3" in size. With a pair of pinking shears or deco scissors cut around the brad mirroring it's shape while leaving an ample amount of paper that will act as a petal. Adhere to the front of your folder . If you would like to include an enclosure add an eyelet using an eyelet setter and eyelet hammer (5MA-20957) (5MA-6173) and attach it to the front and back flaps. With crème colored paper create signatures for your pad. Once you have the desired amount of pages punch two holes in each signature at the top of the folder. With a tapestry needle and embroidery thread sew through each of the signatures and then through the top of your folder and tie off. Add a strip of fiber from the Stella Ruby Fiber Pack by Basic Grey (5BG-BEL770) around the top and through the eyelets (f you chose to add them) and close.

To create the card holder repeat the above process making sure to leave one end of your folder longer than the other (strip will be approximately 9.75 inches in length when laid flat with the first flap measuring 2.25" middle measuring 4.5" and the right side measuring 3.25"). Once you have all the flaps folded over add an eyelet to either side of bottom flap and then cover area with paper. To present as a gift or display on a desk fill a tin with natural excelsior and add a layer of Stella Ruby Paper (5BG-STE775) and add to the outside. Fill with your paper folders and card holder and enjoy!
