Below are pages from The Stampers' Sampler, October/November 2004.
Notes from Paris
A passionate and romantic Paris is remembered in this notecard collection. Using one of the many polished stone techniques for her box and background papers, Gwen Jensen of Sparta, MI paints a vividly red Parisian Arc de Triumphe. She includes words like imagine and memories on the box, perhaps recalling a journey once taken to the city of love. Eyelash fibers contribute to the look of sumptuousness, reminiscent of a boa from a dancer at the Moulin Rouge.
Framed for the Holidays
Barbara Hache of East St. Paul, Manitoba, Canada loves playing with her AccuCut machine. With it, she is able to create all kinds of die-cuts that she likes to incorporate with her rubber stamping. One of her favorite dies is the Note Card Shaker. It creates the frames that Barbara has embellished here.
Embellishments within Reach
Keeping a stash of embellishments on hand opens up the possibilities available to you when you're crafting. Like store-bought frames or decorative corners, these custom polymer clay pieces add dimension, metallic shimmer and texture that a stamper looks for when creating her cards, but at half the cost! Tricia Dewey from Anna, TX already owns heaps of stamps. Her investment here is only in a bit of clay.
Winter Whispers
When the howling wind and freezing rain finds you stamping inside this winter, you may be inspired by Brenda Marks' hinged booklet. This tiny treasure is an ode to winter. Made of polymer clay, it opens to reveal circle windows where you catch glimpses of falling snowflakes. Her quiet palette of blue and silvery-white do justice to this peaceful winter piece.
