Foiling Around
with Watercolor
This is a quick and easy process that comes with guaranteed results
every time. Each card is done exactly the same way, and, as you can
see, this technique works with just about any kind of stamp that has
line art. Intensity of color may be built up through layers of light
washes. Do start light, though. Remember that it is much easier to
add watercolor than to remove it once it is applied. In addition,
several layers of light washes will give your art a much more interesting
texture, full of depth and variation.

Guest
Artist: Lisa Vlach
We had the pleasure of meeting Lisa Vlach last summer while she was
vacationing in southern California. She dropped by our offices to bring
us some of the pieces of stamped artwork shown on the pages here. And
while she entertained us with stories of her family (seven children!),
we were mostly pleased to get a chance to meet one of our readers, get
her thoughts and feedback on the publications at Stampington & Company,
and talk with her more about her love of rubber stamping. You can meet
Lisa and learn more about how she juggles life and art on page 19.

Elegant
and Easy Carved Stamps
If you've never tried carving your own stamp designs, we've got a project
for you! Judi Thorp of Big Rapids, MI has been doing it for years and
loves the ability to personalize her work with designs she carves in
blocks. Judi explains, "I have carved my self-portrait, my dog,
and my daughter all from photos. I've also carved some of my favorite
quotations that I love to use in my artwork. None of these things are,
of course, available in commercial stamps."

Cherries
Jubilee
One of our most popular challenges ever has been the outpouring of artwork
for our Cherry theme shown in the pages of Classic Sampler. Other themes
in this issue include: Flip Flop Tempting Template, Don't Be Board,
Personal DPOVs, and miscellaneous cards covering a variety of themes.
Don't miss out on the inspiration to be gained from all these excellent
cards.
