Below are pages from The Stampers' Sampler, February/March 2007.
Nellie Wortman finds inspiration for her art from everyday life. She uses crude canvases to transform the stories of her life into art by creating multi-layered assemblages that take us on a wonderful journey. See how Nellie combines fat, rusty metal shapes with vintage images to express an emotion, a story or an idea that results in beautiful abstractions that lead us down the path of her experiences.
Who knew corroded copper could transform into amazing works of art? Jimmie Hardee says the magic of copper resist has become a big part of her life these days. Jimmie shares her secrets of success with this unique technique that produces dazzling results. Check out her Asian inspired luminary, bead embellished bracelet, cute copper art doll and more.
Artist Diane De Baun has been working with clay for nearly 20 years. This article showcases her amazing ceramics as she explains how to incorporate stamping into clay projects. Using a stamp with deep grooves, she stamps an image into her handmade ceramic bowls and plates before the firing process to produce an awesome effect.
The focal points of Ali Duffy’s spectacular cards are fabulous resin baubles. She encases coiled wires and beads within the resin for impressive standout embellishments that take your breath away. Her resin baubles are brilliantly reflected against a stamped background for cards that are spectacular originals.
