The
combination of vintage black and white images and rubber stamping is not
a new idea, but Michelle Bodensteiner's approach is. Her delicate touch
of color added to these pieces of clip art and used with portfolios, journals
and cards is a look we've not seen before. Rather than a collage of torn
pieces and stamped images all layered on top of one another, Michelle
has created pieces that show off the stippling as well as the beauty of
her vintage artwork. Mixed with some carefully chosen stamps, her work
takes us back in time, hinting at moments forever captured in her projects. |

Originally designed
for her sister, Amy Wilson of Peoria, AZ has created several of these
storybooks with a variety of themes. This one she calls "Jardin"
and rightfully so! Whimsical fluttery images dance across its pages,
encouraging the reader to grow with love. She tells us her sister
inspired the book because she is such an avid gardener and grows almost
everything she eats. The stamps she chose to express her sister's
passion are from Stampotique in Arizona. "The (stamp) line was
extensive enough to do the entire book," she explains. Amy found
the booklet idea from a book called "Cover to Cover by Shereen
LaPlantz. This star book concept is explained here for our readers
to duplicate.

Let's
give our readers a round of applause for these terrific Hand submissions!
Lots of clever ideas and great stamp images made this challenge a popular
one with all artists. Great ideas abound for birthday, thank you's,

Simple
cards can often make quite a statement, especially when presented, like
this gift collection, encased in a folded card stock box. An animal
set from Stampin' Up! was used for these cards. The artist felt each
image was strong enough to stand on its own and therefore looked for
a simple way to add a bit of whimsy to each beast without distracting
from the main stamped image. Her clever additions enable the cards to
make a simple but memorable impact.
