Paper Tea
Party Hats by Barbara Schoonover When
the author found her grandmother's Victorian hatbox, inside it was
the only hat she had ever owned, a black picture hat with a lace-trimmed
brim. "On rainy days," she says, "when I was bored
she would let me wear her high-heeled shoes, lace shawl, and that
hat, to have tea parties with my dolls. The memory of those times
inspired me to make miniature tea party hats, hat boxes, and hat stands
for tea in The Secret Garden."
