“Queen Marie
by Vanessa Spencer

Start with a paper mache book (5DCBOOKLG). Paint the cover, bind and inside with white acrylic paint (5MA-23751). While the paint is still slightly wet use some tape adhesive to glue a piece of scrap paper onto the front of the book. After a few hours peel the scrap piece of paper off. This should give the cover a “peeled paint” look.

Paint the three outside edges with a light brown acrylic paint (5MA-23751). Use a light brown ink pad (5VS-000-154) to lightly ink the edges of the book and the six lines on the binding.

Tear the pink paper with the circle pattern from the Modern Romance kit (5DD-5506) and glue to the front of the book. Add the blue tag from the modern romance kit to the middle of the circle.

Cut out the Marie image from the cover of the Marie Antoinette paper doll book (5DP-MARIE). At the bottom of her skirt use a wide piece of pink lace. Gather it and attach to underneath the skirt using glue dots (5JV-MINI). Glue the Marie image onto the front with pop dots (5JV-12296) to give it dimension. Spray the outside and the inside very lightly with Red Velvet Glimmer Mist (5TA-REDVEL).

Carefully cut out the Marie doll and outfits with a Kushgrip snip scissors (5TO-817). Inside the book add some shredded paper or as an alternative some fabric so you can store your delicate paper dolls!

“Haute Note Board
by Sarah Meehan

Glue a sheet of newsprint onto a 10" x 10" canvas or piece of heavy-duty cardboard. Once dry, cover lightly with diluted Gesso (5GO-3550).

Allow to dry thoroughly, and then apply a scalloped edge to the border using Painterly Pink acrylic paint from the Claudine Hellmuth Studio line (5HSP24835).

After the paint has dried, apply additional layers of diluted Gesso until the desired effect is achieved. Use a thin-tipped black marker to draw messy outlines along and add dots to the centers of the scallops.

Cut out the two dolls and two outfits from the Classic Fashions of Christian Dior book (5DP-DIOR). Put the outfits onto the dolls, and use tape to lightly secure the tabs (so that the dolls can be redressed with other outfits in the future, if so desired).

Glue together two buttons to create a spacer, and repeat to make four spacers. Affix two spacers onto the back of each doll and glue the dolls onto the decorated canvas.

Use embroidery floss to create four strands between the dolls and glue in place.

Attach notes or memorabilia using clips from the Can o' Clips (5CPCANOCLIPS).
