Here are some additional tips for Christine Adolph's article "Memories in Stone":

  • This works with a color copy. Do not use an inkjet printout.
  • You may have to adjust the amount of water used for the initial paper peeling.
  • The image will appear cloudy after the initial peel, (it almost always does) let it dry and begin the peeling process again. It should clear up once it dries.
  • You need an acrylic gel medium matte, not oil. The most popular medium used by our artist is made by Golden, although Liquitex brand is fine as well. The kind you need comes in a plastic jar. It looks milky white, but dries clear. It can be purchased at most art supply stores. You can pick it up at Michael's and Aaron Bros. It is usually in the aisle that has the artist paints in tubes, not with the craft paint that comes in plastic bottles.
