Loteria Set

Loteria Set (Mexican Bingo)

Welcome to the colorful whimsy that is Loteria! This set includes 10 playing boards and 54 playing cards. To use the game as intended, cards are called off one by one, and if a player has the picture on their board the space is marked (use pinto beans as markers to really be authentic!).

Artistically, this set is a gold mine! Expose your eye to something new, and explore ways to work these elements into your artwork. We invite you to explore life south of the border, create exciting art, and learn a bit of Spanish at the same time!

Loteria Pockets
Trim off the top and bottom edges of Loteria Set (5LALOTTERIA) cards. Cut Loteria cards in half horizontally. Using a stylus, score the trimmed panels vertically along the outside panels. Using masking technique, stamp the edges and between the panels with a border image from Mexican Symbols Stamp Kit. Heat set ink. Using masking technique again, sponge red ink along the edges and between the panels. Repeat the same steps with the other trimmed Loteria cards. Fold the outside panels to the center and attach together with decorative border stickers. Seal the bottom edge of the pockets with border stickers. Using Oval Super Giant Punch, punch a semi-circle in the top edge of the pockets. Slide the prepared cards into the pockets. Computer-generate Spanish text on yellow vellum. Tear the edges along the text. Attach the torn edge text strips to each pocket with Vellum Adhesive (5JV-005). Slip the coordinating prepared card stacks into the pockets.

Loteria Card Box
Cut four slits vertically next to each of the corner panels of a Loteria Set (5LALOTTERIA). Using a stylus, score the card along the edges of the outside panels, twice each, vertically and horizontally. Using masking technique, stamp the edges and between the panels with a border image from Mexican Symbols Stamp Kit. Heat set ink. Using masking technique again, sponge red ink along the edges and between the panels. Repeat the same steps with a second Loteria card. Fold corner panels under center panels on each end of the cards. Using Hole Punch (5SD3/32PUNCH), punch a hole in the center of each end. Attach a White Eyelet (5CBEYEWHT) into each hole with Setting Tool (5CBEYTOOL). Slip prepared pockets into one of the boxes, Slip the remaining box over the first box as shown. Lace a red cord through the eyelets. Cut out a coordinating Loteria panel from a third card. Attach a White Eyelet in the same way. Attach the card to the cord along with a coordinating bead. Slide the bead along the cord until the cord is taut around the box.
