"Affectionately yours" was Jane Austen's signature closure to her letters. Many of Austen's letters are now in the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York, which gave its permission to reproduce some of Austen's original letters on this writing box. The beautiful faux-ivory cameo adorning the case is of an 18th century lady writing a letter to her lover.
