Hand Tinting Photographs
The art of hand-coloring is a technique of artistically altering photographs, popular since the Victorian era. People have been coloring images by hand since the early days of photography. Any photographic subject portrait, still life, abstract from traditional to futuristic, can be altered with hand-coloring.
Washi Paper Lamps
It's called washi: organic paper handmade
in the Japanese tradition from the inner bark of the kozo, or paper mulberry tree. Beginning as familiar two-dimensional sheets, Mary Ginn's washi takes on not only a third spatial dimension but is combined with an additional element that gives the finished artwork its soul: light.

While cruising the Internet, I found Mary Kay's artwork at her website, http://mkcolling.com. I was immediately struck by her sophisticated use of color and design, and I was equally captivated by the humor and pure joie de vivre of her subjects. Mary Kay has also contributed an article on using handmade papers in your desktop printer.
