Simply Shabby Storage Box
by Sarah Meehan
Cover top and sizes of the lid of the Rubber Stamp Storage Box (5HH-BR021B) with green and pink papers from Perhaps (5BG-PER783) and LilyKate (5BG-LIK576). Use Metallic Gold acrylic paint (5JQ-561) to accent the top of the lid and the area around the drawers on the front of the box. Add a light coat of the Metallic Gold acrylic paint on the sides and upper front of the box as well. Once the paint has dried, use a Scrapper’s Sanding Block (5PM-50483) to distress the upper front and sides of the box, and wipe off the remaining dist with a slightly damp paper towel. Glue coordinating papers from Perhaps (5BG-PER783) and LilyKate (5BG-LIK576) to the upper front and sides of the box. Cover the inside of the upper box and drawers with papers from Perhaps and LilyKate. Distress the edges of 20 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" squares of green paper with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (5TH-TIM19527), and affix the squares to the corners on the lid, inside the upper box and in each drawer. Lightly spray the front of each drawer with Spring Mint Glimmer Mist (5TA-SPMINT), using a paper towel to wipe away any excess. Repeat until desired color is achieved. Use cut strips of paper to mask off stripes on the front of the drawers, and spray lightly with Pink Ink Glimmer Mist (5TA-PINKINK). Once dry, use an Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber in Willow (5AA-ALD22404) to distress the front of the drawers, and wipe away any excess with a paper towel. Attach vintage ephemera to the top of the box to add an extra special touch.
