Glass Heart Tags

Spring is almost here…and love is in the air. We have the perfect thing to help you express those romantic feelings in your artwork. Glass Artist Stacy Dorr has designed the most wonderful fused glass heart tags exclusively for The Shoppe at Somerset. They are available in a rainbow of colors, so you are sure to find the perfect one here.

We’re inspired to use them on cards and scrapbook pages, and of course jewelry comes to mind. Are you getting married soon? Wouldn’t these make the most exquisite favor that your wedding guests could take home to remember your special day? They could be engraved using the Magic Wand Engraver and used as placecards at each table. We can’t stop thinking of wonderful uses for these hearts, and we’re sure you will have no trouble thinking of even more.

Since each heart is handmade, each will be slightly different. Each heart measures approximately 1-7/8 by 1-5/8 inches, but sizes will vary due to the fusing process. This makes each one unique and only adds to its appeal.

Using an X-Acto knife, remove the center divider from a Double Slide Mailer (5PS SLIDE2). Paint the slide mailer with green Lumiere. Tear a rectangular panel and four strips from decorative paper. Apply copper rub-ons to the torn-edges of the pieces. Stamp sentiments (Hero Arts) with gray ink on the torn-edge panel. Glue the strips to the right inside panel of the slide mailer. Attach green eyelets to the corners and top edge of the right inside panel of the mailer. Sponge gold ink on “made with love” Printed Twill (5SG-8129 - Discontinued). Attach a section of the twill across the right inside panel. Glue the torn-edge panel to the left inside panel of the mailer. Cut out a panel from patterned paper with scallop scissors. Layer the panel with a green panel to the left inside panel of the mailer. Glue a White Star Pressed Flowers (5KAWTSTAR - Discontinued) to the left panel. Stamp vine (Hero Arts) with green Lumiere on a Red Solid Heart (5SDG-SHRED - Discontinued). Glue three White Star Pressed Flowers to the heart. Apply Dimensional Magic to the heart. Tuck the heart under the twill on the mailer.

Attach Red Solid Heart (5SDG-SHRED - Discontinued)) to a piece cut from one of the French text gift cards from the Printed Card Pack – Black & White (5DMCARDPK-BW - Discontinued). Glue to a piece of red cardstock to make a border. Attach this piece to the black type patterned card with mini brads. Use 1/2" Circle Punch (5MU-CP40) to punch “LOVE” from Metal Type Collage Sheet (5ARTYPE). Glue below heart, and cover each letter with a Medium Circle Blank Page Pebble (5MA-22923 - Discontinued).
