Leslie Altman has found a great use for old credit cards that ordinarily get cut up and tossed in the trash: She gives them a metallic finish. Find out how to give your expired gold card the look of real gold, and use it to decorate jewelry, journals and other artwork.

As artist Diana Twedt demonstrates, foamboard is an excellent medium for creating dimensional jewelry that’s also lightweight. Discover how Diana uses foamboard and wonderful art stamps to create pendants and necklaces that are truly wearable art.


Touch of Gold

Make Polaroid transfers from color slides of San Miguel de Allende on watercolor paper. Enlarge Polaroid transfer door image using a color copier. Enhance the street scene and gate images with colored pencils. Copy photo images onto Lazertran with a color copier. Scan postage stamps, map and other images into the computer. Enlarge and modify as desired. Copy all images onto Lazertran. Collage the Lazertran images onto a pre-stretched canvas panel using acrylic matte medium.
