Flower Power Block
Flower Power Block
You thought cubes were for stamps? Think again! Remove the rubber from a wood cube stamp and what do you have? A vase, of course! Staff writer and artist Mona Gettmann transformed her wooden cube (sans rubber) into a darling little vase with a drilled hole and a plastic water vial. Mona covered her cube with a pale-print wallpaper and then embellished it with all kinds of fun products from The Shoppe at Somerset. She also highlighted the edges of the cube with metallic sticker strips in matching pastels. This sweet little vase is the perfect thing for small flowers or one stem. What a great way to cheer an office friend or teacher!

Instructions:
Drill a large hole, the diameter of a water vial, in one side of a wooden block. Cut six 2 /14" squares from wallpaper. Adhere the squares to the wooden block. Let dry. Cut several slits in the wallpaper covering the hole in the block with an X-Acto knife. Fold the wallpaper into the hole. Slide a water vial into the opening. Stamp shadow stamps with coordinating Crafters ink on two sides of the block. Adhere coordinating flower head stickers onto the shadow images. Cut out bear with posies from the faux posts. Adhere the bear cutout to one side of the block. Cut apart two different quotes from the Adhesive Quotes into strips. Adhere one quote with the bear and the second quote next to the shadow images on the cube. Adhere additional flower stickers to the corners of the front panel. Adhere metallic strip stickers to the edges of the block, trimming the ends as you go.
