The template
was used to lay out a background composition that could be copied
onto various papers and fabric for future projects. The 18th century
French letters were purchased on Ebay and selected for their faded
colors and soft patina.
Place the template
over various parts of the letter and mark the lines. Cut approximately
1/8 inch outside the lines. (This was done to insure that when the
ribbon was placed on top there would be no gaps.) Glue the cut pieces
onto cardstock using the template as a guide. Attach ribbon between
each section with glue.
Melt beeswax
in the microwave and apply with an old paintbrush to the top and bottom
of the page. Highlight with Golden iridescent paint.
