Easter Treasure Gift Box Instead of using a basket I thought it would be fun to try something different for an Easter egg gift! I also created a coordinating Easter postcard pouch that is a simple yet stylish way to send Easter wishes to a special someone. Begin with a small paper mache chest (5DCCHESTSM). Paint all the outside edges and the entire inside of the chest with white acrylic paint (5AA-ALD22671). Use the floral paper from the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit (5PM-602116) and cut strips 2 strips that are 1 3/8“x 5 ¾“ and 2 strips that are 1 3/8”x 8 5/8” for the bottom half of the box. Glue those strips on with a strong adhesive (5HSP24934). For the chest lid, cut out a piece that is 7 ½ “x 7” and then trace the curved end pieces (these are the ends of the chest lid). Glue onto the lid with adhesive (5HSP24934). Take a piece of the green patterned cardstock from the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit and glue one of the vintage postcards (5VI-PC2542 Sold Out) onto the paper. Tear around the edges so that you leave a small amount of the green visible. Try and curl up the edges a little to make it look worn. Then glue the piece onto the lid of the chest. Attach the green lace from the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit around the edge of the chest lid using glue dots adhesive (5JV-MINI). To create the flower embellishment on the inside of the lid – take one of the pink felt flowers from the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit and place a purple collage flower (5PM-523824) on top of it, then on top of that punch a flower brad (5CI-18833) through the center of the flowers and secure the brad at the back. Glue the flower embellishment to the inside of the lid. Take and old egg carton and tear off the lid. Cut the carton down to size so that it will fit eight eggs. Paint the carton with pink acrylic paint (5HSP24835). Once that has dried, place it into the treasure chest and add eggs, candy, and if you like some add some shredded paper (Easter grass). For the pocket cut out two pieces of the floral paper in the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit and then stitch the three sides together – remember to leave the top section open. Across the top edge attach a piece of the green lace from the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit using glue dots (5JV-MINI). Use a pink and green felt flower from the Steel Toe Mary Jane kit, add a bird brad to the center and glue onto the front of the pocket. Insert a postcard (5VI-PC2542) and your postcard pocket is ready!
