Below are pages from Belle Armoire, September/October 2006.

Men’s wool sweaters purchased at thrift stores and yard sales find new life as cuddly “Heart Felt” sweaters for babies and infants.

A creative block led jewelry artist Stephanie Lee to uncover the elemental souls of discarded and lost objects. Honoring these items brings new inspiration to her work.

Justine Limpus Parish urges fabric artists and fashion illustrators to study other disciplines, such as architecture, for fresh ideas on designing garments and using textiles.

KC Lowe instinctively began learning the ways of natural dyeing as a child during long walks through the forests of southern Germany. Today, she is one of the top nuno felters in the field.
The art of Shibori dyeing knows no bounds, as each piece of fabric is guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind. The artform is one of discovery and sometimes a surprise or two, explains fabric artist Doshi.

Lisa Pavelka’s swinging Swirl Club Purse is as easy to make as it is pretty to look at. To top it off, it’s practical!

Angela Cartwright and her art colleagues in The Creative Underground collaborated on a charm necklace that links them in friendship and artistic fellowship, and now fund raising for a women’s shelter.
