“Eat, Drink & Make Art! Christmas Dream Box”
by Vanessa Spencer
My inspiration for this project came from the lovely Helga Strauss of ARTchix Studio. Helga recently sent me a handout with pictures of Dreambox projects created by artists at the 2008 Art and Soul Convention in Portland. I was so inspired by all of them that I had to make one myself! One of Helga's students used a green and red color combo that looked amazing! The green and red color combo worked so well and blended in with the “Eat, drink & make art” image from the Handmade with Love collage sheet (5AR-PS502).
Start with the ATC Dreambox (5AR-D405) and paint it using a bright green acrylic paint (5MA-29029) or (5AA-ABD22411). Make sure you also paint the inside shadow box area. Allow to dry. Take a fine paint brush (5CHS24729) and with red paint (5HSP24798) paint the outside edge of the glass door. Then paint red dots around the edge. Painting the red dots is easy because the Dreambox already has the embossed dots around the edge. Dab the green paint just very lightly around the border of the glass door.
Cut out the “Eat, drink & make art” image from the Handmade with Love collage sheet (5AR-PS502) and glue inside the box. Place the red foil frame border (5AR-G914) over the top of that image. Place a small green bling crown (5HS-HS64233) so that it is titled to the right above the lady's head. Used the circular red foil shape (5AR-G914) and glue it to the top of the Dreambox. Use pop up dots adhesive (5JV-12296) to glue the green Love Me button (5AR-B504) inside the circle. Cut out the vintage ledger paper images from the Handmade with Love collage sheet and glue across the strip on the lower front. Add a piece of decorative red foil (5AR-G914).
Use the Dreambox as a gift for an artistic friend or for yourself! Either way this eye catching, vibrant project is sure to turn some heads.
