Modern Romance Vintage Style

Purse:Choose several designs from Daisy D’s Modern Romance Paper Pack (5DD-5506) and cut to fit the sections of the flat 7 Gypsies Large Accordion Purse Kit(5SG-17483), then, adhere, trimming where needed. Pounce four of Making Memories Decorative Brads (5MA-23719) along with four rivets from 7 Gypsies Black Fabric Journal Handle (5SG-12348) with Golden’s Gesso (5GO-3550) and set aside to dry. Die-cut a motif from one of the design papers to adhere to the right hand side of the flap, then, ink all edges of purse with a Krylon Silver Leafing Pen.
Punch holes in the four corners of the front facing of the purse, then bring the chipboard to shape and mark those holes for placement on the folded side flaps now behind the front facing and punch so the brads can be inserted to hold the purses shape. Punch another hole in the lower central area of the front flap, then, insert a 7 Gypsies Clear Crystal Ball Knob (5SG-12443) attaching with screw provided. Align handle to top of purse, mark and punch holes, then insert bottom section of rivet through hole in chipboard and hole in handle and top with rivet’s cap.
Accordian Book: Open book all the way out and paint with a coat of Gesso (5GO-3550) using a foam brush. Squirt a puddle of Making Memories Dusk color from the Harvest Colors Collection (5MA-23674) onto a palette, then, using a slightly dampened sea sponge, dip into the color and apply in a stippling fashion over the gessoed area, thinning and dipping as needed to cover. While the blue is still wet, use a stipple brush to pounce Lumiere’s Metallic Bronze paint (5JQ-565) over all. Once the piece has dried, swish more gesso over the painted area with the foam brush allowing some of the colors to show through.
While the accordion book is drying, punch the tags from Daisy D’s Vintage Tags (5DD-14653), sanding along edges with a Shrink Plastic Sanding Block (5LS-SANDING) to smooth. Using black ink and Cavallini’s Birds and Nests Rubber Stamps (5CSTAMP/BIRD) stamp each tag with an image and all tags with the branch image on the bottom. Stamp a nest image onto a Cavallini Vintage Ephemera Label (5CPLABEL-EPH) and set aside. Stamp a bird image onto one of the labels provided by Daisy D’s paper pack and set aside.
Choose two more design papers and cut to size in order to fit the front and back covers inside and out. Adhere inside covers. Cut a piece of Maya Road’s Seoul Journey East Ribbon (5MR-JE003) long enough to wrap around closed book. Lay ribbon over back cover, then, adhere the cut out paper over, but adhere the paper to the front cover without the ribbon underneath. Attach stamped label to the front cover as shown and the ephemeral label to the top left hand area of the inside cover, then, stamp the tree image below it. Adhere one stamped tag to each inside page, then, fold book together, bring ribbon around the front and tie. Insert book into the purse.
