The culinary herbs and spices in my kitchen were looking a little messy with various brands in various sized bottles, so a little reorganization and revamping was in order. On one of my recent thrift store outings, this mini spice jar cupboard caught my eye. Originally, it was painted a dark green so I decided to give it some new life with a coat of white paint. I used Eco Green Crafts white acrylic paint (5EC-01009). On the top of the cupboard, I attached a piece of patterned paper from the Printery collection (5PM-843731-DISCONTINUED) to complement the tops of the jars where I had also incorporated some of the papers. To alter the jars (5SBO-HERB4W) I cut out circles from the Printery collection (5PM-843731-DISCONTINUED). I stamped various spice names onto the writer’s tape (5PM-550790) using the typewriter alphabet clear stamps (J6228) and black StazOn Ink (5TS-BLACK). I then attached the tape to each circle (edges trimmed) and then glued the circles to the top of each jar lid. Since I have a fair amount of spices, I decided to do a few extra jars that I will keep on my countertop next to the mini cupboard. Instead of altering those lids, I decided to apply the same technique to the glass itself! |
