Kraft file folders can be purchased at most large office supply stores. They make a great canvas for all kinds of craft projects. I decided to use a couple to create folder "pockets." I covered the front of each folder with a piece of patterned paper from the 12"x12" Manila and Kraft BasicGrey Basics collections (5BG-BAS2566 & 5BG-BAS2567). When adding the larger piece to the front just cover the front lightly with a liquid adhesive (5DU-MATTE16) then place the patterned paper onto the front, allow it to dry and then trim off the excess with scissors (5TO-817). Choose other papers from the Basics collections as accent pieces of paper, cut them out to the desired size, ink the edges with Brown ink (5TS-BROWN) and glue the pieces on. Stamp the Bird and Bee Paperie images (5CC-BB09) and (5CC-BB23) onto light pieces of Basics cardstock, cut out the image and ink the edges and then glue onto the front of the folders. Once the adhesive has dried use a needle and light brown colored thread to stitch the corners of the stamped images and then stitch the short sides of each folder to create the pocket. Fill your pockets with ephemera, photos, recipes and much more! |
