2011 Calendar Keepsake

Start the new year with a resolution to create an accordion book to document your favorite picture from each month. It’s a great way to have a keepsake of the year using pictures of people, places or anything inspiring. Measure the outside surfaces of the Corina box (5CI-16353) for the dimensions of each surface then cut out the roses patterned paper from the Le' Romantique collection (5GR-4500173) and glue the papers onto the box with a Matte Medium (5EC-05305). Using the same medium, paint over the outside (over the patterned paper) to seal the paper. This will help protect it from wear and tear.

I chose three coordinating patterned papers from the Le' Romantique collection (5GR-4500173) to cover the accordion pages. Each pages measures 4 6/8” x 6 7”8” and there are a total of 14 pages. Glue each piece onto the pages using the Matte Medium (5EC-05305) and allow to dry. After all the pages have dried you can clean up the edges that have a little excess paper over the edge by sanding them light with the sanding grip (5TH92482).

Using the "calendar" page from the Lost and Found Paper Stash (5TH-92825) cut out each month and the strip where it says “calendar.” Very lightly ink the edges of the month pieces with brown StazOn Ink (5TS-BROWN). Glue each piece onto the bottom of each page in order. Glue the strip that says “calendar” onto the first page of the book. Using the black patterned paper from the Le' Romantique collection (5GR-4500173) cut out 12 squares that measure 3 ½” x 3 ½” and then 12 squares of a cream colored cardstock that measure 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”. Glue a black square onto the top portion of each page. Ink the edges of the cream squares lightly with the brown StazOn Ink (5TS-BROWN) then glue them onto each page (on top of the black ones).
