Girl-House card: I used postcard size fabriano paper and painted a neutral background with coarse bristle brushes. While the paper was drying, I stamped the bird (L1001) onto some regular muslin fabric. I then cut out a piece of green felt in the shape of a house and free motion stitched the house onto the paper. Lastly, I loosely painted the girl with acrylic paints and stitched the birdie stamped fabric at the top of her head.

Bird Nest card: This project started very organically with some free hand brush strokes loaded with watery acrylic paint. I then stamped the nest birdie (L1001) onto some lined school paper and cut some long strips of vintage ephemera. I used these strips to make a nest that I adhered with gel medium. Next, I free motion stitched some leaves using felt and ephemera under the nest. Then I stitched around the nest for added texture as well as around the bird stamped paper. Tip: If you do not have a darning foot to free motion stitch the pieces, stitching with embroidery thread by hand would look exquisite.
